How the product bundle contribution calculator works
Separate revenue is each item quantity times its separate price. Item variable cost uses the same quantities. The separate contribution is revenue less item cost; bundle contribution is bundle price less those item costs and extra bundle packaging.
The contribution change compares one identical set of items in each scenario. Customer saving is separate prices less bundle price and can be negative. Bundle contribution margin divides bundle contribution by bundle revenue, returning unavailable at zero revenue.
At least one item is required. All amounts refer to one bundle or matching item set. No additional demand, customer mix, cannibalization, fulfillment saving, fixed overhead or tax is inferred. A lower contribution per set can be intentional, but volume effects need their own evidence.
Worked example
One $60 item costing $25 and one $40 item costing $15 produce $100 separate revenue and $60 contribution. An $85 bundle with $3 extra packaging costs $43 and contributes $42. Customers save $15 while contribution per identical item set falls $18; bundle margin is about 49.41%.
