How the hauling cost per metric tonne calculator works
One trip adds vehicle-only distance cost, measured fuel cost, elapsed labor time and one other trip charge. Round that trip charge to cents, then multiply by whole trips. Delivered mass equals trips times the usable payload.
Cost per metric tonne divides total trip cost by delivered mass. The distance allowance excludes separately entered fuel and labor; full round-trip time should include loading, waiting and return travel where applicable.
No route, legal payload, axle loading, commodity bushel conversion or return-load revenue is inferred. Zero trips gives zero total and no unit-cost ratio, while the illustrative one-trip cost remains visible.
Worked example
A 100-km trip at $1/km plus 40 L at $1.50/L, three hours at $30/h and $20 other cost totals $270. Five trips cost $1,350 and deliver 100 t. Fuel at $2/L raises total to $1,450.
