How the shipment cubic volume calculator works
Exterior carton volume is length times width times height in centimeters, divided by 1,000,000. Multiply by whole carton count to obtain shipment cubic meters. Zero cartons gives zero shipment volume while dimensions remain positive.
Planning volume multiplies exterior cube by one plus the entered allowance. Volume-only carton capacity rounds usable volume divided by per-carton planning volume down to a whole carton. Capacity equivalents round total planning volume divided by usable volume upward.
This is not a packing or load-safety solver. Weight, doorway clearance, carton orientation, stack limits, pallets, axle loading and carrier chargeable volume can constrain a shipment before cubic capacity is reached. Use real exterior dimensions and an independently appropriate usable-capacity estimate.
Worked example
A 50 × 40 × 30 cm carton occupies 0.06 m³. Twenty cartons total 1.2 m³; a 10% space allowance gives 1.32 m³. Against 28 m³ usable capacity, the volume-only estimate is 424 whole cartons per capacity unit and one rounded-up capacity equivalent for this shipment.
