How the field operation days calculator works
Effective hours required are area divided by effective hectares per hour. Daily capacity is that hourly capacity times machine hours per workable day. Whole workable days round area divided by daily capacity upward.
Available area capacity is daily capacity times entered workable days. Subtract required area to show a signed area gap. Zero hourly capacity makes positive-area machine hours unavailable; zero daily capacity makes required days unavailable. Zero area requires zero hours and days.
A final partial working day still counts as one whole day. Workable-day availability is your assumption, not a weather, field-condition or agronomic forecast. Off-field travel, breakdowns and a safe or suitable operating plan remain outside the calculation.
Worked example
120 ha at 3 ha/h requires 40 effective machine hours. At eight hours per day, five whole workable days are needed. Four available days cover 96 ha and leave a signed capacity gap of −24 ha. Reducing area to 72 ha requires three whole days.
