Steady-state EER (Btu IT/Wh)
Electrical kW per refrigeration ton

How the cooling efficiency unit converter calculator works
Equivalent steady-state EER is COP times 3600/1055.05585262 using the international-table Btu. A refrigeration ton equals 12,000 Btu IT/h, so electrical kW/ton equals 12 divided by EER.
Only one matched steady-state test or operating condition is converted. The input and output units express the same efficiency rather than making different tests equivalent.
SEER, SEER2, IEER and other seasonal or weighted measures are not valid substitute inputs. No field-efficiency prediction, climate adjustment, equipment suitability or federal eligibility determination is made.
Worked example
A steady-state COP of 3.5 is about EER 11.942496 and 1.004815 electrical kW/ton. Changing the entered COP to 4 returns COP 4 with the corresponding equivalent steady-state quantities.
