How the turning machining time calculator works
Axial feed is feed per revolution times spindle RPM. One piece uses (cut length plus approach) times pass count divided by that feed. Multiply by pieces for ideal cutting minutes.
Add one independent handling allowance per piece. Every pass has identical feed, speed and travel allowance; noncutting returns, acceleration, inspection and tool changes are excluded unless included in handling.
No safe RPM, feed, depth, tool, tolerance or machine capability is recommended. Use procedure values supplied by qualified personnel. Zero pieces produces zero batch time.
Worked example
A 100-mm cut plus 5-mm approach at 0.2 mm/rev and 1,000 RPM takes 0.525 minutes per pass. Two passes on 10 pieces take 10.5 cutting minutes; 0.5 handling minute/piece gives 15.5 minutes total. At 2,000 RPM total is 10.25 minutes.
