How the revenue growth & cagr calculator works
Absolute growth is ending revenue less beginning revenue. Total growth percent divides that change by beginning revenue. CAGR = ((ending ÷ beginning)^(1 ÷ elapsed years) − 1) × 100.
Zero beginning revenue gives undefined growth percentages, while the absolute change remains available. Zero ending revenue with a positive beginning gives −100% CAGR. Negative revenue is excluded from this reduced geometric-growth model.
CAGR smooths the path between the two observations. It does not show annual volatility, profitability, acquisitions or constant-currency effects, and is not a demand forecast. The elapsed-years convention is your input rather than an inferred date calculation.
Worked example
Revenue growing from 100,000 to 150,000 over 3 years changes by 50,000, or 50% in total. The smoothed compound annual growth rate is approximately 14.471424%. An ending value of 200,000 over the same 3 years gives approximately 25.992105% CAGR.
